"TEMPLE OF VESTA"
(WITH THE TEMPLE OF HUMAN FORTUNE IN FOREGROUND -- FORUM BOARIUM, ROME) 2002
These two well-preserved Republican temples, sited on a grassy bank of the Tiber River in the heart of ancient Rome, date from the second century B.C. It is not definitely known to which gods they were originally dedicated. In the subsequent millennia, they have served as churches dedicated to Christian saints, and as landmarks for generations of pilgrims, tourists and artists.
The universal language of beauty speaks with timeless principles of proportion and of harmony with nature. Echoes of history reverberate a sense of continuity and communion with our ancient selves and present purpose.
